Cheap DIY Jewellery Cleaner

Jewellery cleaner can be expensive, not to mention crammed with chemicals. I have always fancied making my own but assumed it would be tricky and time consuming. How wrong I was! This is a super easy and cheap way of making your own.

Come closer and let me show you how my jewellery went from murky to perky! This is a method normally used on silver but I thought I would give it a whirl with my gold and it worked wonders. You will need:Jewellery cleaner supplies

  1. Tear off some foil, large enough to cover the inside of your bowl and use it to line.
  2. Add 2 heaped tablespoons of salt (or bicarb if you have it).
  3. Carefully pour in boiling water until your jewellery is completely covered.
  4. Leave for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Fish out your jewellery (carefully as the water may still be hot) and rinse under the tap to remove any salt. Dry off and buff to finish!
