Dust off your old and unloved records and make them pay their way again! The idea of doing this little project stuck in the archives of my mind after seeing it a few years ago. If you fancy making one, I will show you what I did to get this result which I love! You will need:Vinyl Record, Oven, Tin ( or Baking beads wrapped in a Muslin), Bowl and Baking Tray
- Pre-heat your oven to around 200 degrees. On a baking tray, place your bowl, record and tin as shown: The idea of the tin is that as your record melts, the tin sinks and creates the shape.
- Pop it all in to your hot oven and watch this mo-fo like a hawk!! Don’t leave it in for too long or it will bubble and scorch.
- Whip it out when it has fallen into the bowl and formed its shape. If you aren’t happy with the shape it has created, use tongs (not your fingers as it will be HOT) to manipulate it. You can always pop it back in remember.
- Wait until cool and start using your fabulous new bowl.
I use mine for my bedtime skincare stash. What do you think?
