Fuel Save Road Trip To Twin Lakes!

Tesco Fuel SaveI hope you all had a fabulous bank holiday weekend, it feels like a distant memory already eh?. Instead of crying into my Ribena that it was the last ‘long weekend’ for us, I hopped in my trusty car on a mini adventure.

High fuel prices are preventing Brits from enjoying holidays and trips in the UK, according to new research published by Tesco.

85% of those surveyed said they would travel around the country more if fuel prices were cheaper, while over a third (39%) admitted that they have cut down on family day trips.

Twin Lakes Day Out Review 1I do most of my grocery shopping at Tesco when the offers are swinging in my favour. Once I spend over £50 in store, it kicks in to give me money off my fuel at the pumps. Read my fuel post on the Tesco Fuel Save offer here.

TWIN LAKES THEME PARK REVIEW 2We headed off to TwinLakes Theme Park with picnic in hand and an open mind as I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My friend raves about the place, so wanted to take my little boy along to see what all the fuss was about. We booked tickets online. My son, due to his age was totally free and adults were just £10 each!

We strolled straight into their ‘farm’ house where we were met with some friendly and well looked after animals. My boy loved the pigs and donkey. Then we walked around to some rides which were a great mixture of age appropriate madness (I’m such a wimp- so not a fan) but I did really enjoy the ‘bumper boats’. This place is IDEAL for hot days as it also brags ‘water park’ status as it has a number of water rides and activities. It was wayyyyyy too cold for this when we went though. For lunch, we pitched up and ate what we had packed as I was worried it may be expensive to eat there.

Overall, it was a great day out and we will definitely be going again. I’m so glad we made the trip out to try something new.

Have you ever been to TwinLakes? Have you discovered somewhere new this summer?

  1. I took my 4 there and they loved it. Book online first for best discount tho lol!!

  2. Shame it’s a bit too far away for us. Looks very good. David

  3. Great post Annie- I’ve read about these fuel savings. Once you spend £50 you get 2p off a litre however the offer lasts only a month with it wiping away the moment a new month begins. With people generally trying not to over spend in the supermarkets is it really such a good offer? -Caroline
